Specialised Grief Support from a Counsellor and Registered Nurse
The Grief Nurse is a dedicated service within Applied Mind, led by a counsellor with over 30 years' nursing experience in palliative care, emergency, and community settings.
Our story
This service was created to walk gently beside those experiencing profound loss —
whether from death, diagnosis, trauma, or life-altering change. With a deep understanding
of both the physical and emotional impacts of grief, The Grief Nurse provides:
Holistic, person-centred grief counselling
Compassionate support through anticipatory grief and end-of-life challenges
Trauma-informed care for sudden or traumatic losses
Space to explore meaning, identity, and connection after loss
We understand that grief is not linear, and that each story deserves time, care, and validation. The Grief Nurse is here to ensure no one has to carry their sorrow alone.
With over three decades of experience as a Registered Nurse, I’ve walked beside patients and families through illness, death, and grief. As a qualified Counsellor, I now offer a safe and supportive space to hold grief with care and without judgment. I believe grief deserves time, tenderness, and trust.
